Official Rules
1. NO PURCHASE OR ONLINE ACCESS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. One prize per person or e-mail address. The Lycos "Really Cool IBM Stuff Sweepstakes" Sweepstakes (the "Promotion") begins at 12:00:01 A.M. Eastern Time ("E.T.") on Friday January 7, 2000 and ends at 11:59:59 P.M. E.T. on Wednesday February 16, 2000. This
promotion is not being conducted on IBM's behalf.
2. ELIGIBILITY: The Promotion is only open to legal residents of the United States living in the United States who are at least 18 years of age and, if entering online, logging onto the Internet from the United States. Employees, officers and directors of Lycos, COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES/C.O.M.P., their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, fulfillment and marketing agencies, their immediate families, (defined as spouse, child, sibling, parent, or grandparent) and those living in their same households are NOT eligible to participate in the Promotion. By entering the Promotion or participating in any Promotion or prize-related activity, participants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Lycos, COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES/C.O.M.P., IBM, their affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, agencies and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from any injury, loss or damages of any kind that may arise out of participation in the Promotion or out of the acceptance, use, misuse or possession of prizes. By participating, you agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of the judges
(COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES), which are final and binding in all respects. Void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation

3. HOW TO ENTER: The Lycos/Really Cool IBM Stuff Sweepstakes is an electronic/mail-in random drawing, sponsored by Lycos. LIMIT: One entry per day per person or e-mail address per day. You must connect to the Internet through an Internet access provider. To enter the Promotion online, you must enter your first and last name, complete address, City, State, Zip code, telephone number and your e-mail address in the online entry form located on the entry page of this promotional site. After entering the correct information in all of the fields and clicking on the "Submit" button, you will immediately be entered in a database for a random drawing to win one of the prizes offered in the Promotion. All Internet entries must be received by 2/16/00. Participants may also enter the Promotion by legibly printing their first and last name, address, telephone number and e-mail address (if applicable) on a 3 inch x 5 inch card or piece of paper, placing the card or paper in a #10 envelope, and mailing it to: Cool IBM Stuff Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 2001 Framingham, MA 01703-2001 USA. Participants may submit up to one entry per day during the Promotion, but each entry must be mailed in a separately stamped envelope. All entries must be postmarked no later than 2/16/00 and received by 2/23/00. More than one entry from any person or e-mail address, whether online or by mail, will void all entries from that person or e-mail address. No photocopies, reproductions or facsimiles allowed. COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES/C.O.M.P and Lycos are not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, or postage due mail. All entries become the sole property of Lycos and none will be returned. Entries made by Internet will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Authorized account holder is deemed as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is resp
onsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If the potentially winning entry is an Internet or other computer entry, potential winner may be required to provide COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES, with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the potentially winning entry.
4. PROMOTION DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: Potential winners will be selected in a random drawing, from all eligible entries received, on or about February 25, 2000 by COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES. Potential winners will be sent their prize-winning notification via electronic mail (e-mail), if applicable, and/or notification will be confirmed by postal mail. A potential major prize winner(s) has (10) days from receipt of notification to claim his/her prize by completing, signing and returning the prize Affidavit of Eligibility release, Liability Release and, where lawful, Publicity Release forms, or an alternate winner will be selected. Non-compliance or, if a selected potential winner cannot be contacted, provides incorrect email or mailing address, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize, or fails to return the completed and executed Affidavits and Releases, as required, or if the Prize Notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, an alternate winner will be selected. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Lycos to use winner's name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation, unless otherwise prohibited by law.
6. PRIZES AVAILABLE:
Four (4) Grand Prizes will be awarded. IBM Thinkpad i series notebook.
The Approximate Retail Value of the Grand Prize
is $1,999 each.
Thirtyfive (35) First Prizes will be awarded. A New IBM 104-key Rapid Access II
Keyboard with 16 Rapid Access buttons for access to: instant shopping, news and
sports. Approximate Retail Value: $35.00 each.
Total Approximate Retail Value of all prizes $9,746.
Odds of winning any prize in the drawing depend on the number of eligible entries
received. No prize substitution is permitted, except by Lycos, who reserves
the right to substitute any prize of equal or comparable value including cash in the
event of prize unavailability. Prizes are non-transferable.

8. MISCELLANEOUS: Lycos and COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES/C.O.M.P. are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Lycos on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Promotion. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Promotion, as solely determined by the judges, will be disqualified. If disqualified for any of the above abuses, Lycos and COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES reserve the right to terminate player's eligibility to participate in the Promotion. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROMOTION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, LYCOS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event any portion of this Promotion is compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, technical failure or other causes beyond the control of Lycos or COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES which, in the sole opinion of Lycos or COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES, corrupts, or impairs the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Promotion, Lycos and COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES reserve the right in their sole discretion to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the Internet portion of the Promotion, but may continue with the free, alternate means of entry portion. All prizes will then be awarded, in a random drawing from all entries received prior to such a suspension. ration or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration, of entries.
9. TAX INFORMATION: All taxes, fees, and surcharges on prizes won are the sole responsibility of the winner.
10. GENERAL INFORMATION: This Game is conducted in English (which will be given its everyday ordinary meaning) and any and all disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the U.S., exclusively, and subject to the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Should there be a conflict between the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
